Scottish Thistle Ring
Crest ring of the Scottish Thistle made in Scotland. A thistle on the face of the ring and one on each side. The inside is highly polished, solid and ideal for engraving. The oval crest is 15mm by 12mm and tapers to 2.5mm in the rear. This ring is 14kt European gold, a size 10.5 (U.5) and weighs 9gms. With the smooth shank, the ring can be sized up or down as your involvement in the clans warrants! Sizes listed are the only sizes they make the rings in Scotland, you can have sized to your finger without any problem locally.
The Thistle was used by the early Kings of Scotland as their personal heraldic crest and is borne by the Arms of the Realm and by a number of ancient Scottish clans and families as part of their coats of arms. In 1687 James II instituted the Order of the Thistle as a distinct Scottish Order of Knighthood. This order is now one of the oldest of all surviving British orders. The sizes shown are listed in USA sizes and UK/Scotland equivalent.
