This Celtic knot is an unclosed version of a 4x8 plait and can be found in the book of Kells bordering the Durrow folio 85V. It is American made and typical heavy construction. The ring photographed is a size 11 and weighs 8.7gms. The comfort fit version weights 12.1gms. The width is 7mm for the man's or lady's ring. The basic ring is done in one piece with the center channeled out. Within this channel the contrasting ring of Celtic knots is placed. It is fixed and does not revolve. The knot work is highly polished while the background is Florentine. For further detail the contrasting edge of the ring is milgrained for an additional texture that is very pleasing to the eye. It is only available in whole sizes 5 through 12. The heavier comfort versions are available in half sizes. Allow 3-5 weeks as these are made to order. We export to Ireland and the ring is unmarked as to brand name.
