Celtic make-up wedding bells |
|
|
In the spirit of old Irish and Celtic traditions, the couple were given a 'make-up' bell on their wedding day. The bell of truce. The rules are, that after a 'disagreement', one of them is to go get the bell and ring it. This calls for a truce and make up. It's over, don't bring it up again! It is to conjure up memories of the wedding day and make both remember and get the gleam in their eyes again! Guys, this doesn't mean that we are wrong, just willing to be man enough to make up! And as the world knows, those with Celtic aspirations are the best at making up!!! The custom can be traced to peasant traditions west of Ireland and may be attributed to St. Patrick's Bell of Will. Saint Patrick's bell was crafted in iron. A make up bell could be glass, crystal, wood or metal. These are silver, available in gold by special order. Handcrafted in the United States and of intricate Celtic knotwork. They can be worn or ornamental. Just keep them close by! Complete with silken spun cord for hanging or wearing. Smallest one has silver bead chain. |
